Emerging Technology in a Growing Industry

My work with Hybrid Robotics spans brand strategy, product marketing, visual design, and user interface development, allowing me to contribute to both the company's public-facing identity and the user experience of its technology.

Through JASIN Digital Art & Media, I have partnered closely with the Hybrid Robotics team to develop a cohesive visual language across print materials, trade show displays, marketing collateral, social media campaigns, and product branding. This work has helped strengthen the company's presence within the marine robotics industry while communicating the innovation and reliability behind its technology.

One of my most impactful contributions was leading the branding strategy for Hybrid Robotics' tether management system product line. I developed the names, visual identity, and supporting brand narrative for both the Nautilus and Ammonite Tether Management Systems. Rather than relying on purely technical naming conventions, I created a product family inspired by marine cephalopods, establishing an immediate connection between the products and their underwater applications. The Nautilus name was chosen to reflect the system's compact form factor and coiled tether management design, drawing inspiration from the iconic spiral shell of the nautilus. As the larger, more advanced platform was developed, the Ammonite name naturally extended the brand story, referencing the larger prehistoric cephalopod while reinforcing the product hierarchy and creating a recognizable, scalable naming framework for future innovations.

Beyond branding, I collaborated with the Hybrid Robotics engineering team to design and develop the user interfaces for these systems. Using Figma, Python, WebGL, and Three.js, I helped create interfaces that transform complex operational data into intuitive, visual experiences for operators. The upcoming Ammonite interface incorporates a real-time 3D model inspired by the ammonite itself, providing users with an immediate visual representation of system movement and deployment activity. Additional environmental visualizations, including dynamic wave-inspired graphics, are being integrated to subtly communicate deployment conditions and system status. By combining industrial usability with thoughtful visual storytelling, the interface enhances situational awareness while reinforcing the product's unique brand identity.
